Droop Farm Cottage is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful setting, and friendly hosts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, comfortable furnishings, and the cleanliness of the property. The welcome pack and garden are frequently mentioned as delightful touches. While the location is rural and tranquil, it provides a good base for exploring Dorset. The occasional mention of minor maintenance issues does little to detract from the overall positive experience.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests consistently noting the property is immaculately presented and maintains a very high standard of cleanliness, even when accommodating pets.
The location is celebrated for its quiet, rural charm and picturesque scenery. While some guests mention the remoteness requires some travel to reach attractions, the tranquil setting is seen as a positive aspect.
Comfort is a standout feature, with guests frequently commenting on the comfortable beds, high-quality linens, and cosy atmosphere of the cottage, contributing to a homely feel and restful stay.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished. However, a few reviews mention minor maintenance issues, such as a shower handrail and bath temperature, slightly lowering the score.
The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the welcome packs and personal touches, which are highly appreciated by guests. While these gifts add to the experience, it is noted that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
Set behind the owners’ ancient farmhouse, and sensitively converted from a 300-year-old stone barn, Droop Farm Cottage has plenty to offer a group of family or friends seeking to get away from it all. You will be impressed by the elegant and homely feel throughout, wonderful welcome basket provided with Tracey's own homemade marmalade and cake! With the exterior stone work representing everything that is quintessential about small, English cottages. The small windows and slate roof really add to the character, with the interior carefully thought out to provide the best experience for visiting guests. The décor and soft furnishings give a sense of continuity as you pass through from room to room. Outside, there is plenty of room to explore as well as space to sit and admire the views which stretch off into the distance towards Bulbarrow Hill. If peace and privacy are high on your list, then this is a perfect choice for your holiday. The three bedrooms are spread across both floors; the first of the double beds is located on the ground floor, while the second double room and third twin room are on the ground floor. One family bathroom can be found on the first floor, hosting bath with separate shower, WC and Basin. The modern kitchen dining area has everything you could ever need, and leads into the living room which features comfy seating and TV with Freeview. A tranquil, rural village sat just outside of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Hazelbury Bryan is a small, traditional village with thatched buildings, a parish church dating back prior to the 15th century and a popular pub that was built in 1750, it also boasts a Spar shop. In the village there is also a field with cricket and football facilities as well as a children’s play area. Droop Farm Cottage is great for families looking to have a quiet country retreat away from the madness of everyday life.
