Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and tidy. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.

The cottage is appreciated for its quiet and peaceful setting, with easy access to the Dorset countryside and local amenities. Its proximity to Shaftesbury and other attractions is also noted, although some guests mention the lack of walking paths directly from the property.

Reviewers frequently commend the comfort of the beds and sofas, as well as the cosy and warm atmosphere of the cottage. The enclosed garden and the overall relaxing environment contribute to the high comfort rating.

The cottage is well-equipped, with guests mentioning the modern kitchen and the welcome pack. However, some guests point out the need for additional cooking utensils, a shower over the bath, and updates to some appliances. The garden's maintenance is also highlighted.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome packs provided, which include treats such as wine and fresh eggs. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Grist mill cottage had everything we needed. There was a very nice welcome pack and the added bonus of a private garden.

Only shower in a bedroom, an over bath shower in main bathroom would be good. Oven only had one shelf, so difficult to cook main meals. No freezer, although handbook for one in drawer. Under counter fridge small for possible five people. Only three of us & we struggled for cool space. Expected more access to large garden implied in description.
