Situated in a courtyard of similar properties, these comfortable cottages are adjacent to the owners home and 8 acres of land, in the heart of the Blackdown Vale, an aonb, where the countryside is alive with deer, buzzards and pheasants, and just 4 miles south of Shaftesbury, where the famous Gold Hill is located. Nearby there is golf, gymnasium, fishing, 1 mile, and cycle paths and walking. Within easy driving, the historic towns of Blandford and Salisbury. Visit Longleat House and Safari Park, 22 miles, Stourhead House and Gardens, Kingston Lacey and Yeovil Air Museum, and the New Forest, where ponies roam, and the popular South Coast seaside resorts of Weymouth, 25 miles, Bournemouth and Poole, 22 miles. Stabling at cost by prior arrangement. Shops 3½ miles, pub 2 miles.

We chose this cottage because it was advertised as accessible, but unfortunately it did not meet our accessibility needs. The corridor leading to the toilet was so narrow that it was impossible to get a wheelchair through, which made the bathroom inaccessible. There were also no grab rails in the bathroom, and the multiple steps into the property would present significant challenges for anyone with reduced mobility. In addition, the floor surfaces throughout the cottage were uneven, creating further accessibility and safety concerns.On a more positive note, the surrounding area was beautiful, peaceful and very picturesque, making it a lovely location for a quiet break. The kitchen was well equipped with all the facilities we needed during our stay.However, the cottage itself felt quite tired and in need of some updating. The décor was dated, and there were numerous cobwebs which detracted from the overall impression of cleanliness and maintenance.While the location has a lot to offer, I would not recommend this property to wheelchair users or those requiring accessible accommodation, as the accessibility described in the listing did not reflect the reality of the property.

It was a very decend stay. - a beautiful nice accomondation with everything needed, everything really fine inside - a large terrain with the possibility to play football- a very nice and quite neigborhood 5 miles outside Shaftesbury- friendly, courteous and helpful hostAll that helped us to really enjoy our stay, and we really love to come back again.Thanks
