Samphire Cottage is a well-equipped and beautifully decorated property in a superb location, ideal for large groups and families. Guests have praised the spaciousness, the welcoming touches such as scones on arrival, and the property's suitability for exploring local attractions. The picturesque setting and ample parking add to its charm, making it a recommendable stay.
Several guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including cobwebs, dust, and unclean crockery. However, others have found the property to be clean and welcoming, indicating some inconsistency in the standards of cleanliness.
The location is frequently praised for its beauty and convenience for local walks and attractions. Despite some comments about nearby building work, the setting is generally considered perfect for a holiday stay.
The property is described as spacious and beautifully decorated, with comfortable bedrooms. However, some guests noted that the living areas could not comfortably accommodate all guests and that seating was limited.
The cottage is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but there have been several mentions of maintenance issues such as leaks, a non-working tumble dryer, and insufficient dining seating for the number of guests the cottage can accommodate.
Guests have appreciated the thoughtful touches like the provision of scones on arrival, toys, and books. It's important to note that such gestures are subject to availability and are not guaranteed for every stay.

On the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, two miles west of Swanage and five miles south-east of Corfe Castle, is the picturesque village of Langton Matravers. Matravers derives from the name of the Lord who originally lived there, while Langton comes from the phrase "long town." The Langton Matravers Museum presents the town's local history and paints a detailed picture of the methods for mining and utilising the local stone. Numerous walking routes pass through the village, including the "Smugglers Way," which starts in Worth Matravers and travels down to the coast path before returning to see the locations where smugglers were rumoured to have brought their contraband ashore. A convenience store and a typical village tavern, which holds an annual Stone Carving and Pumpkin Festival, are also located in the village. Dancing Ledge, a former cliff quarry with breath-taking views of the seashore, is located outside the hamlet. Adventure seekers can even scale the rock face or ride the coaster at the Ledge.

Only a couple of things stopped a 5 star rating. 1. The building site right next to the garden was unfortunate and was only mentioned once booked, but to be fair, it wasn't too noisy. 2. The TV downstairs had a fault on the display showing a bright glow in one place which meant it was annoying to watch TV. Luckily the weather was great so we didn't use it much at all! Overall, a lovely place and would recommend.

Living areas not particularly clean. Sink leaking and broken dishwasher reported at the beginning of the holiday and plumber never turned up to fix it after being promised. The only heater (fan) in the small living area not working and not adequate. Only six out of the ten people could sit together on comfortable seating. Bedrooms and bathrooms fine.
