This attractive cottage on the Anvil Point Lighthouse site has a fully fitted kitchen, dining room, sitting room, two single and two double bedrooms (one en-suite) and bathroom.

Veronica Cottage sleeps six guests and is one of two holiday cottages at the lighthouse, situated within the grounds of Durlston Country Park, approximately two miles up the hill from Swanage town centre, which offers a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and other facilities. As you turn off the main road and begin your "off the beaten track" path to your cosy accommodation, you'll feel like you've just stepped off the treadmill of your busy life; and if you arrive after dark, there's nothing like the welcome of a lighthouse beam to greet you!
Perfect year round; from enjoying summer sun on the nearby beaches, to snuggling up to witness amazing storms in the colder months; indeed many of our guests feel a little cheated if the weather has been too calm! If you're looking for a holiday with a difference; a complete break from the metropolis; a breath of fresh air and countless coastal walking opportunities, then look no further.

Please be aware that the water in this cottage is provided by a borehole and is therefore not suitable for drinking either hot or cold. Bottled water will be provided.
There is no fog horn at this site.
A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Given the remote locations of our cottages the Wi-Fi speed and availability cannot be guaranteed at this site The service offered is for light browsing and occasional use, services such as streaming and gaming may not be possible owing to the speeds obtainable.
Sorry, no pets, next door cottage Rowena Cottage accepts two dogs.
The Lighthouse grounds are walled however please ensure that children are supervised at all times.
Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.
Sorry, no barbecues, fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment are permitted.
Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

We have been taking annual short breaks at the Veronica Cottage since Nov 2007. We love the location a mere 10 minutes from the restaurants of Swanage and perfectly placed for some excellent walks along the Jurassic coast. It is also just a short walk to Durlston and their excellent café which serves a good Full English Breakfast and other meals throughout the day. It is very special staying in a Lighthouse cottage and we have stayed in several around the UK through Rural Retreats but always come back to Anvil Point. Coming to Anvil Point on a regular basis we have experienced all different types of weather and watched all the different sea conditions and watched some amazing Sun Rises. Although my children have now grown up they usually continue to join me at Veronica Cottage as they also love it there. I have no doubt I will be continuing to take short breaks at Anvil Point for many years to come.

This was our first time staying in a light house and won't be our last. Veronica Cottage was well equipped, warm and comfy and so robustly built that we hardly noticed the stormy weather we had on our first night. The views and surrounding walks were wonderful so we'll definitely be back!
