Up to six of you can stay at this three-bedroomed Dorset property, which is set in the popular coastal town, known for its beach, shops and restaurants.

Amble into this charming former fisherman’s home to find yourself in a bright, airy lounge, with sea views. Relax in here to watch TV, lose yourself in your holiday novel or simply gaze outside. Wander into the kitchen at mealtimes to find it has an electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator, small freezer and dishwasher. Cook and dine together in here at the table. As night falls, follow the stairs up to the first floor where a double bedroom enjoys magnificent coastal views. Find a bunk bedroom and a shower room, with WC and hand basin, at this level too. Make your way up to the second floor, where there is a super king-sized bedroom also takes in fabulous sea views. An additional shower room, with WC and also the washing machine, is located in an outbuilding, found through the kitchen and up a set of steep steps. Take breakfast, lunch and dinner outside as often as possible. Guests have use of a permit for parking one car behind the cottage, spaces are unallocated.

Walk less than 0.5 miles to swim, paddle and make sandcastles on the beach. Pack a picnic and drive 4 miles to spectacular Studland Bay, owned by the National Trust and known for its long beaches. Pick up the South West Coast Path from Swanage for clifftop walks with panoramic views along the Jurassic coastline. Embark upon a challenging 12.5-mile walk to see the ruins of Corfe Castle and then catch a steam train home.
