The Retreat is a semi-detached, Grade II listed, stunning five bedroom country house nestled at the heart of the pretty Dorset Village of Burton Bradstock. Set just ½ mile from Hive Beach, on the world heritage Jurassic Coast, it’s perfectly located between Weymouth and Lyme Regis. The house itself is perfect for large family groups with stylish and flexible accommodation over three floors. The social hub is a large kitchen/dining room and is perfect to relax, cook and enjoy each other’s company. The stylishly furnished living room is the perfect space in which to relax after a busy day exploring.
The village of Burton Bradstock is a beautiful place to explore, with village inns, a restaurant and a superb café directly on Hive Beach. A little further afield is the harbour settlement of West Bay which is a spectacular place to while away a few hours. The pretty harbour has a back drop of stunning sandstone cliffs and beautiful beaches.
The Market towns of Dorchester and Bridport are a short drive away and offer a wide variety of independent shops and eateries. This luxury holiday home will have you enchanted from the moment you step inside, and will have you longing to return.

Absolutely amazing property! Beautifully appointed and it was spotlessly clean. Fabulous location 10mins walk from Hive beach and a stroll to two restaurant pubs. We ate in both the Anchor next door the Three Horseshoes both of which were great. Alex (the owner) very prompt in his communications and we also met the cleaner as we were leaving who was equally lovely. There was one comment about the bunk bed room being small...this is the smallest room in the house but my 9 and 7 year had ample room. I would highly recommend this property!

A lovely house for a family stay. Lots of living room comfortable seating and a good kitchen diner area. The bedrooms were mostly fine. The bunk bedroom was however minimal. Although small, it could have been better - no chair, no bedside light. The main access door to house from the courtyard was incredibly hard to open from the inside - quite worrying if there was an emergency. The garden was well kept and pretty; the off road parking was sufficient for three cars.

Fabulous family house which we hired to celebrate our Mum’s 70th birthday. Eight adults and four kids and a dog were easily accommodated in comfort and classical country style. The kitchen dining room is the heart of the property and great for family breakfasts and we hired a chef for one night who found the kitchen excellent for cooking up a feast! The living room is also a lovely place for a relaxing family flop.The house has a nice enclosed outdoor dining area and an additional secure garden perfect for smaller kids and dogs. Beautiful beaches are only a stroll away and West Bay offers a very presentable seaside experience without be too “bucket and spade”!
