The perfect venue for large families or groups travelling together, The White House has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The welcoming sitting room is stylishly presented with beautiful wood flooring, a beamed ceiling and an inviting seating area; the perfect spot for gathering as a group, curling up on a sofa and making the most of quality holiday time together. Step into the comprehensively equipped kitchen which has everything possibly needed for the designated chef to whip up some fabulous cuisine for the whole family. Enjoy meals in style in the elegant sunroom which is all set up with an extensive dining table and has attractive French doors opening out on the gardens. If the weather allows then throw open the doors and step outside to the patio area and lawns beyond. The gardens are walled and enclosed making this a perfectly safe area for children (and dogs!) to have some freedom while the adults can relax and enjoy some drinking and dining time alfresco. All that running around is bound to have tired you out so when sleep calls choose from any one of the five stylish bedrooms including two king-sizes and three doubles. Bridport is a delightful market town making it ideal for a browse and attractions here include Bridport Museum and Palmers Brewery Tours and West Bay boasts some of the best beaches in Dorset. If you’re up for a drive with some stunning scenery along the way pop along to Charmouth Heritage Centre, the Jurassic Fun Centre, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens and Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary with towns such as Lyme Regis and Weymouth well worth a visit too. West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway To The Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coastal Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, golf, fossil hunting, boating. Visits the homes on Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, The Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, the lovely sub-tropical gardens and swannery at Abbotsbury, or the golden sands of Weymouth. It was great to have en-suites for all bedrooms and a downstairs toilet. There is a useful utility room and the garden is lovely - we had good weather and so were able to make good use of it. We only had 3 cars, so parking was easy, though navigating the lane is quite tight! The property is slightly quirky - the taps in the kitchen go backwards, windows don't quite fit in some rooms, the oven was a bit temperamental and one of us got stuck in the downstairs toilet! The double beds were a little small and overall the beds were a bit hard. The house is well placed, between Bridport and West Bay. We did the market on the Saturday and had a lovely Sunday lunch at the West Bay hotel, both of which can be reached by walking. It is a lovely area and well worth a visit. We only did a weekend and wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

Everything was clean and tidy. Very good position to walk into town or down to beach. Parking behind house was easy. The only slight downside was the toilets in some of the en suites which have a noisy composter type mechanism which could go off in the middle of the night!

The property is well located, has ample off-street parking and is very comfortable and well appointed. The 'suite' of social spaces on the ground floor (sitting room, kitchen, dining room) work really well in ensuring an inclusive atmosphere. The kitchen is really well equipped and acts as a great hub within the social space. The bedrooms (and the beds) are all equally comfortable and the garden also provides a great social space if the weather is good. In short, I cannot fault the White House and would certainly book it again for a similar occasion.
