It was just me, a solo traveller, with Marley my dog.A lovely welcome, milk in the fridge, biscuits, tea, sugar, coffee in a welcome basket Marley particularly appreciated the jar of dog treats.Walk in to a very cosy, well-appointed lounge with three bedrooms and a bathroom off. A good sized, well appointed kitchen area complements everything. Master bedroom has en-suite and the bed is very comfortable. The whole impression when first walking in is cosy, warm and welcoming. As we were walking the coast path we appreciated being only a couple of miles from the coast. As the weather was awful we also used local footpaths and lanes and Marley had a ball. I just got wet!Literally 5 minutes up the road is the new inn pub. Dog friendly, we were both made to feel very welcome, a simple but adequate food menu satisfied us both (Marley was getting dog treats from the bar, offered to him by some very friendly locals). 5 minutes drive, into Bridport, a good range of places to eat, drink and shop. The lovely hosts have provided an information pack in the cottage which is very helpful. In summary: Clean, cosy and comfortable in a quiet rural area but near to everything you might want. Definitely recommended and I'm now looking to book my next stay.

We spent a very enjoyable, relaxing long weekend at Woodpecker Cottage. A very comfortable, well furnished and well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet rural location. At this time of year, the gas central heating was very welcome.

Had a very good relaxing time. Only letdown was lack of bus service. Checked detail before booking but information was incorrect.
