Situated in the heart of the coastal village of Charmouth and close to popular Lyme Regis, delightful Meads Cottage sits just steps away from its famous fossil beach. This special cosy cottage is the ideal base for exploring the unique delights of the Jurassic Coast and beyond.
This charming holiday home offers a pretty sitting room with a feature brick fireplace and electric wood burner effect fire, the perfect space in which to relax after your days adventures, perhaps reading a good book from the selection provided. Meals can be enjoyed in the adjoining dining area and the attractive cottage kitchen with its open shelving is well-equipped with everything required for preparing and cooking your delicious treats. The breakfast bar with stools invites you to perch and enjoy your morning coffee at the start of the day, as you plan your next trip and the entry porch with a small cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.
On the first floor, off a small landing, you will find the two cosy and comfortable bedrooms consisting of a 5' king-size and also a 3' single, both rooms have exposed stone walls which add character and charm. A Jack and Jill bathroom with shower conveniently serves both bedrooms.
Outside you will find a small, white-washed courtyard with pretty plant pots where you can enjoy a glass of wine sitting at the garden table and chairs.
Charmouth has a number of popular restaurants, as well as a range of local shops, all just a short stroll away and for further exercise the nearby coastal path beckons. In addition to having timeless Lyme Regis close by with its famous Cobb and seafront, just a short drive or cycle away, you will also find the thriving market town of Bridport which has a vibrant arts scene and numerous cafes and good eateries, and its neighbour West bay is well worth a visit too. Conveniently sitting close to the border with Devon also, your holiday retreat is ideally located for visiting Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth and the delights of South and East Devon also. However you wish to spend your relaxation time, the options for days out from Meads Cottage are endless, with the choice of coast or countryside to tempt you.

We spent most of our short break on both beaches. Great location, so close. Dog loved running on the beach but closest we came to fossils was in the shop! Good market in Bridport on Saturday. Meads Cottage was10 out of 10!

Perfect location in a delightful cottage and really lucky to dodge most of the heavy showers and enjoy the Autumn sunshine! Wrong end of the year to find fossils, as the beaches have been "picked clean" ??? but fun trying! Great walks, stunning scenery, beautiful beaches and yummy food, especially the fresh fish. Both the George & the Royal Oak great for food & friendly staff. Sidmouth, Seaton (+ tram), Lyme Regis, and West Bay all worth a visit. Local ciders & beers a must, & clotted cream ice creams delicious in any weather!

We've had a lovely stay in your quaint, perfectly located cosy cottage. A great find! Everything we needed for self catering was provided. Wonderful farm shop10 mins drive with great café â Felicity's. Lyme Regis is a charming seaside town and plenty to explore as well as wonderful coastal walks. Fantastic bus service. We used M Cabs for later returns as bus finishes around 7. Would recommend Alexandra's Hotel restaurant, we had a lovely celebration meal overlooking the garden to the sea. Beautifully clean & stylish accommodation.
