Bramble Bank sits in Higher Bockhampton, a hamlet on the edge of Puddletown Heath, which contains the cottage where famous poet and author Thomas Hardy was born in 1840. This cosy retreat for two is ideal for walking in Thorncombe Woods or walking and cycling in Puddletown Forest, and for visiting the cottage, cafe and visitor centre.
Perfect for a relaxing couples break or a solo stay, the well-appointed single-storey accommodation includes a fully secure and gated courtyard garden with large patio, making it ideal for taking your pets on holiday. Step inside and you will find a bright sitting room with wood burning stove and comfortable seating, plus a well-stocked bookcase and a Smart television. The open-plan kitchen and dining area is a well planned and equipped space, which also includes an area for hanging coats, and a large combined wardrobe and storage cupboard. A sliding barn door opens to reveal the pretty bedroom, a cosy space for a peaceful night's rest. The contemporary shower room sits off a small centre hallway, and completes your special holiday home.
Enjoy your morning coffee sat in the courtyard and you will be sure to hear the birdsong all around. On sunny evenings enjoy unwinding with a glass of wine watching the sun go down, or perhaps undertaking a spot of stargazing. With the nearby woods just steps away, there is no need to venture out in the car, but if a trip out is desired you will certainly be spoilt for choice with Bovington Tank Museum, Sculpture by the Lakes, Athelhampton House and Gardens, and T.E. Lawrence's Clouds Hill all popular visitor attractions nearby.
The county town of Dorchester is just three miles away with its shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and cinemas, a Roman Town House, Iron Age Maiden Castle and The Duchy of Cornwall's Poundbury, so plenty to see and do.
The Jurassic Coast is within easy reach, and the delights of Durdle Door, Lulworth, Chesil Beach, Ringstead Bay, and Weymouth all just a pleasant drive or cycle away from your comfortable holiday retreat.
