Private parking for 3+ cars. No smoking.. North Barn is set just outside the village of Affpuddle and is surrounded by fields. There is a wonderful footpath to the village Tolpuddle across the meadows by the house. It is a Grade II listed property with a thatched roof and all the charm of the English countryside. Downstairs there is a very spacious living area where you can cosy up next to the wood burner, or step straight out into the enclosed lawned garden. There is a spacious and traditional kitchen with an Aga and heading upstairs using the beautiful spiral staircase you come to a landing with an opening where you can look down into the living area. Leading off this landing are each of the bedrooms with beams throughout. This is a truly spectacular property, perfect to spend quality time together in a rural location with your friends and family. A car is necessary so you can go out to explore the incredible wonders of Dorset. You can go to the Langham Wine Estate where they are dedicated to making world class sparkling wine, or head to Thomas Hardy’s Cottage, a National Trust site. Visit Monkey World or the Tank Museum, or drive to Poole to catch a boat to Brownsea Island which has an abundance of wildlife and fantastic walks around the island. You can head to the Jurassic Coast for spectacular walks between Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Whether you are looking for a wonderful property to relax or a base to enjoy the wonders of Dorset, North Barn will make the perfect property. Beach 10 miles. A very spacious and well-furbished house. The garden was a delight and just right for our family get-together. The owner was very helpful in sorting out any problems that occurred during our stay. It would have been helpful to have a handbook explaining how things work in the house. Some basics such as soap, tea and coffee, etc were left in the house which was great to have on arrival. The location was fine, within easy access of coast, Dorchester and other places of interest.Would definitely recommend for a large group.

Excellent cottage for grandparents, children and grandchildren. The location was so central to many attractions and everyone was able to go in different directions each day. We were surprised at how little fuel we used while travelling to the Isle of Portland, Durlston Park, Lulworth Castle, and other local Historic Houses, National Trust and English Heritage properties. Others in the party thoroughly enjoyed Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove and the Walled Garden of Moreton. Beds and bedding was very comfortable, less so all of the many sofas.The large garden was fully enclosed. Kitchen equipment was suitable for cooking for eight and the Aga worked well (including the recipe books).There was no cottage pack / book with instructions for appliances, Wifi, recycling etc which would have been very helpful and which we missed. The owner was very helpful though.

A lovely property very clean and spacious with a large garden .It was well situated to visit places on interest near by. We were disappointed that we could not walk to any where from the property as all gates were padlocked and the road was too dangerous to walk along with dogs ,we were lead to believe we could walk to Tolpuddle from the property .Also there was no welcome pack to advise on how to dispose of rubbish ,what to do with used bed linen or what was the wifi code .
