This lovely detached, wooden holiday cabin is set in a quiet spot on a popular Park Dean resort. The site is set in over 40 acres of woodland and offers many facilities that can be enjoyed, including use of an indoor swimming pool, golf facilities, a sports complex, roller skating and a games room before 6pm. A family pass for two adults and two children is available on site for £106pw, which offers unlimited access to all facilities (excluding ski slope). There is also a dry-ski slope and a fishing lake (licence needed to use) which are both available at an additional cost throughout the day. Set in the heart of Thomas Hardy country and just a short drive to the stunning Jurassic coastline and the seaside town of Weymouth with its promenade and sandy beach. The Sealife Centre, Monkey World, Tank Museum and Abbotsbury Swannery are all nearby. Shop, licensed clubhouse and restaurant on site.

The private owner was responsive and considerate and lovely to engage with but the agent listing the property for her was not helpful. They directed me to call park Dean with some isues I highlighted and not the owner. The dishwasher had not been cleaned and there was black mould in it so we ate out as I didnt fancy washing up. I reported the isue to the owner who is looking into it. The agent listed an amenity in the property - a washing machine. To be fair the listing under a different section said the washing machine was coin operated and communal but I hadnt seen that detail when booking so was a little disappointed. I would like to finish on a positive note. The beds were very comfy, the bedding and towels clean. The space is huge and more than adequate for 4 people. Its in a quiet elevated position and the site is fantastic. The pool has a wave machine and the food was good too. Breakfast options particularly good. Lovely walks around the lakes.

Disappointed with misinformation from Cottages.com - told we could access property 3 pm, arrived to be told no its 4 p.m. then no=-one knew what number lodge was the Hive. Also, the owner told us 3 p.m. No tea towels proved, could have done with a raining board dish drainer. No loo rolls provided.
