My wife and I felt at home the moment we walked into Oak Tree Cottage. The cottage has been beautifully refurbished and extended, the views are wonderful, and the facilities first class. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay due to the weather. The cottage is reasonably remote and surrounded by farmland. This farmland had become waterlogged due to the almost continual rain during November 2019, and when a further heavy storm arrived the water simply cascaded off of the fields. The road at the front of the property became a fast flowing stream and the sunken patio at the back of the house became a water fall. When the water reached within a centimetre of the bi-fold doors at the back of the property we decide we needed to leave in a hurry. We called the agents for the property to advise them of our decision. They were less than sympathetic / helpful. We only just made it out through the badly flooded local roads. So, in summary, do go to Oak Tree Cottage, but be aware of the weather conditions and how they can affect the cottage and the locality.
