About this property

Enjoying a superb countryside setting in the charming village of Symondsbury in Dorset, is this traditional barn conversion, The Barn. Perfect for families or couples travelling together, The Barn boasts a wealth of original features and yet has been tastefully furnished with all the conveniences any discerning traveller would expect. The sitting room offers a truly welcoming introduction to the property with feature ceiling beams, traditional stone walls, a warming woodburning stove-effect fire and a delightful seating area, the ideal spot for coming together with friends and loved ones and enjoying quality time. The amply fitted kitchen has everything required to rustle up some delicious cuisine for your party and the elegant dining room adjoins and comes complete with an attractive open fireplace, helping to create a really inviting space where you can imagine spending long, leisurely meals. If the weather allows, then there is a private courtyard area outside with patio furniture all set up ready for you to enjoy time with your loved ones alfresco. When night falls and bedtime calls, make your way to either of the two impressively appointed bedrooms, a double with a TV or the stylish twin. Both are well presented and boast feature ceiling beams and are a wonderful place to wake up to in the morning with the rural views encouraging you to get up and get out exploring. Opt for a relaxing soak in the roll-top bath or an invigorating shower before heading out for the day. There is so much to see and do in the area it can be hard to know where to begin. Symondsbury is a chocolate-box village with some beautiful rural sights, smells and sounds to take in and if you travel a little further afield then you can check out places such as Bridport, West Bay, Jurassic Fun Centre, Tunnel Tree Tops high ropes and Lyme Regis with its beach, harbour, causeway, museum and aquarium. Beaches worth a visit while you’re here include Charmouth, Seatown, Chesil and Lulworth Cove and towns to pop into along the way include Weymouth, Branscombe, Seaton and Sidmouth. The Barn is where happy holiday memories are made.

Symondsbury is a village and civil parish in southest Dorset, England. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by the Marshwood Vale to the north and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast to the south. It houses an iconic landmark, Colmers Hill, which is often featured on postcards and photographs. There is a stream that flows through the village and legend says the water has healing powers, with an old road leading to the shrine of St Wite at Witchurch Canonicorum, which was also said to have healing properties. Symondsbury has a lovely village store and local pub, as well as a garden centre and clothes shop. Ideally situated for exploring the nearby market town of Bridport, the West bay harbour, and the expansive Jurassic coastline for plenty of walking and cycling opportunities. A lovely remote village in the heart of Dorset countryside.
