About this property

Cliffwalk Cottage, a charming two-bedroom holiday home, is located on the lovely Dorset promontory of Portland Bill and is perfect for a couple, a group of friends, or a small family. This home makes the ideal coastal retreat with a bubbling hot tub to enjoy and conveniences close by. Off-road parking welcomes you when you arrive at this stylish cottage. From there, you can enter the living/dining area, which has patio doors leading directly to the backyard. Before watching a film or spending time in the garden, eat dinner at the table and plan your next adventure in the area. Your four-legged buddy can stretch their legs as you enjoy the sunny weather in the garden, home to the hot tub and furniture. Back inside, the ground floor is finished off by the well-equipped kitchen, which has everything you need for a self-catered stay. A double and a twin bedroom upstairs offer a place to rest before an exciting day, as well as a bathroom where you can get ready for the day. Portland is a wonderful seaside town to discover when you have time to explore. A highlight is the Portland Castle, which is also home to a charming museum with displays on the local history and maritime traditions. Don't miss Portland Alpacas, a farm with gorgeous animals, and Blacknor Fort, a well-preserved castle from the 16th century. There are many restaurants and bars in this area, including The Cove House Inn, which serves up fresh seafood and if you're in the mood for takeout, Cod Fathers is where you should go for mouth-watering fish and chips. Weymouth, a quaint seaside town that is conveniently located, is well-known for its stunning coastline, sandy beaches, and Weymouth Harbour, a well-liked location for sailing and fishing. On a hilltop overlooking the harbour, Nothe Gardens is a lovely park, and Nothe Fort is a popular tourist destination that dates back to the 19th century. There are several restaurants and cafés to enjoy in the town centre, and the coastline is a lovely area for a stroll or a picnic. Visit Cliffwalk Cottage with your loved ones for a memorable break.

An 18-mile-long stone spit called Chesil Beach connects Portland Bill, a short cape at the tip of the rough Isle of Portland peninsula, to the mainland. Portland Bill is home to three lighthouses, the most recent of which, the 35-meter-tall, white and red-striped Portland Bill Lighthouse, was completed in 1906. Portland Bill is located on Dorset's breathtaking Jurassic Coast, which is now a World Heritage Site. In addition to the Portland Bird Observatory, Portland Bill also has a bar and a restaurant/café. The breathtaking seaside landscape, pathways, and nearby terrain, which was formerly used for quarrying, make for excellent walking, and the area is well recognised for being a birdwatcher's paradise!

It was like a home from home. There are areas which needed a little attention with cleaning, skirting boards and door frames need wiping down but it didn’t affect our stay. Washing machine was a god send and meant I had no holiday washing to do when we got home. The back garden is a little a sun trap and the hot tub was lovely to jump into after a hot day exploring. Welcome folder had everything in it that we needed. Parking space was used all week, in fact, we only used the front door once and that was when we arrived. Area is very quiet, despite being in a residential area. Short walk to coastal path from house. Lots of walks on Portland and lots to see. Lots to do and see in Dorset. You definitely need transport when staying here.
