Following the route, you will pass stone quarries, where the traditional Portland stone, used in iconic buildings such as St Paul's cathedral has been excavated. At the top of the Island, the famous Portland Bill light house can be viewed and there are couple of restaurants/ cafes serving refreshments. The Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy is nearby and is a level twenty minute walk or few minutes' drive away
