The Blue Cottage in Portland, Dorset, is praised for its stunning sea views, cleanliness, and spaciousness. Guests appreciate the well-furnished rooms, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches like games and books. The property's multi-level layout offers a balcony for enjoying sunsets, though it may not suit those with mobility issues or young children due to stairs.
Reviews consistently mention that the property is very clean, with only one mention of an issue with the oven that was resolved by the guest. The high level of cleanliness contributes positively to the guests' experiences.
The property boasts amazing sea views and is well-positioned for coastal walks and visiting nearby towns. The convenience of a nearby bus stop is noted, although the one-way access road can be busy. The location's appeal is slightly tempered by parking limitations.
Guests find the beds super comfy and the living spaces spacious. However, concerns about suitability for families with young children and those with mobility issues due to the stairs are noted, slightly affecting the comfort score.
The property is well-stocked with kitchen utensils and entertainment options like board games and Netflix. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as problems with the oven, shower heads needing descaling, and the need for clearer instructions for appliances, which affects the score.
While guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like games and books, there is no mention of gifts in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category based on the provided information.

The community of Fortuneswell is located on the Isle of Portland peninsula, connected to the mainland by Chesil Beach, a pebble spit that spans 18 miles towards West Bay, on Dorset's beautiful Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage Site. Formerly a quarrying region, Fortuneswell now offers a fair selection of shops, bars, and restaurants in addition to a fascinating maze of lanes that wound their way up a high hill to provide breath-taking views of the Jurassic Coast and the surrounding Dorset undulating hills. This fantastic vacation spot is not to be missed because of the surrounding countryside's well-known reputation as a birdwatcher's paradise, as well as the fantastic walking and climbing opportunities, the variety of watersports available, the wonderful sandy beaches, and Weymouth's close proximity.

. we only had 1 car so wasn`t a problem but if we had 2 cars then it would of been . Also , lots of stairs , no problem for us , but be aware if you are less mobile . Lovely balcony on top floor overlooking the sea , highly recommend

The kitchen is effectively in a basement at the rear and is bit of a disaster. It's small, there's no real space to put your food. There is an unusable wooden table and 6 chairs which a family could not eat at. We ate in the 1st floor living area, which means you have to go up and down 2 flights of stairs. The kitchen also has in it a foldable metal table and chairs for use on the raised wooden patio at the rear. The steps on the raised wooden patio are not straight and have splitting chicken wire on them. Both showers are very small especially the one in the en-suite Another resident informed us that parking is only for one car not the 2 stated

Very well presented and lovely decor. I'll start from bottom of the house to 4th floor. The house had everything you needed from cooking facilities: oven/hob, microwave, kettle including all the utensils. The trays were a very thoughtful item to help carry dinner up the 2-3 flights of stairs. Lounge/dining room was spacious, TV had access to Netflix, little touches like board games too. Bedding was well presented with plenty of hanging space for your holiday clothes. 2 bathrooms with a bath and shower. Top bedroom with balcony was stunning, we ended up cancelling our table reservation out for evening dinner to instead sit on the balcony and eat watching the sunset. Constructive feedback- List all the little details on the website as we were not aware of absolutely everything they had in the house - for example, we brought our own high chair, bath anti slip mat for the little one, own iron, etc when we could have saved space in the very full car as the holiday house had it all.
