Set in a stunning location with magnificent views over Portland Bill and the lighthouse, this detatched cottage for 4 with decked patio, offers a great holiday location where one can watch time go by with the passing ships and boating activity around Portland Bill. There is superb scenic coastal walking, bird watching and of course water activities to be found on Portland or in Weymouth harbour, be it wind surfing, yachting, boating, fishing, swimming or simply sunbathing on the beach. One can explore Portland with its castle, museums and Sailing Academy, or onto the Chesil Beach and World Heritage Coast down to Lyme Regis or up to Lulworth Cove, or visit Weymouth and Dorchester with their many family attractions. Perhaps even take a day trip on the ferry to Jersey or Guernsey. Beach 2 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 100 yards and restaurant 200 yards.

What an amazing spot to stay. The cottage is comfy with a well equipped kitchen, comfy living room with panoramic views across the English channel.The quirky spiral staircase was easily climbed and we took little suitcases which we could carry up, a big suitcase would definitely not fit. But if you do have issues then hosts have left clean carry bags so you can get your stuff upstairs, where the two bedrooms have ample wardrobe and drawers.The beds were really comfy but as the write up says the eaves make it difficult to get in on the one side, but we did manage it.Then there is the outside. Beautiful deck with glass windbreak all round and definitely a sun trap. The hot tub is beautiful with views across to the sea.So the house is perfect and then there is the added benefit of being able to walk to the coastal path, the lighthouse and Lobster Pot restaurant. You're only 20 minutes from Weymouth but to be honest it was so lovely we only drove about 10 miles the whole week as there was so much to do just on Portland and put on the Bill.Would highly recommend and hope to return.The hosts are amazing too and ready to come out of there are any issues.

Incredible location. Views are breathtaking. Lobster Pot cafe food is close by for delicious meals. Great walking are the island. Hot tub is an added bonus. Low ceilings in bedrooms and spiral staircase were a problem but the unique location more than compensated. Owners very helpful and pleasant people.
