The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The equipment, decor and soft furnishings are of a very high standard with thoughtful little touches from the host to enhance your enjoyment - a real 'home from home' There are plenty of walks around the area and places of interest within a short drive. The only thing which could pose a problem for some visitors is the steep gradient of the drive to the parking area, however this fact is noted in the original information. We enjoyed a comfortable, relaxing break

There are frequent buses that run through the village of Upwey between the two, but expect a mile walk to the stop or take the car and park it in the village. Within easy reach of many open houses and gardens, the Subtropical Gardens in Abbotsbury are a must, and the tea room and wishing well water gardens in Upwey are highly recommended. Sixpenny Cottage is a well maintained and comfortable home from home with all necessary self catering amenities. Although the kitchen is small it is well equipped for preparing home meals. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is adequate although runs slowly and takes several minutes to get hot - but becomes extremely hot! The patio gets the afternoon sun and on warm afternoons is a good place to relax or take meals. The parking space is ample for one car although the drive down to it is very steep.
