Anchor Cottage was lovingly restored and updated, and the interior now boasts a contemporary feel, with the modern open plan sitting/ dining room leading to the kitchen; a perfect social area. Completed to a high standard throughout, the cottage with stylish bathroom / shower rooms and completed with a long sleek kitchen. Located on a paved street and nestled among old fisherman's cottages, close to the harbour edge Anchor makes a perfect home for families, or two couples wanting to holiday together. A must visit is the Tudor House opposite Anchor, one of a few remaining original Tudor buildings dating from 17th Century.
Just a minute away is Hope Square, a pretty area bordered with restaurants, bistros and a pub, a great place to relax and watch the world go by. This holiday cottage is located just seconds away from the old harbour in Weymouth where you can view yachts and working fishing boats busy in the harbour. Walking along the harbour and cross the town bridge which rises throughout the day to let boats in and out of the harbour. Adjacent to the town and a lovely five-minute walk from Anchor is the main Weymouth beach, stretching over three miles – it is the perfect location for a shoreline walk, sand castle building or just sitting and enjoying the gentle lapping of the shallow waters.

This thriving area called Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated right at the very heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. Now a popular destination with many restaurant’s café and bars making it a vibrant location where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked in the harbourside streets here you will find original Tudor harbour buildings estimated to have built 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible facts and artefacts, there is more to this seaside town than meets the eye. The harbour is home to the lifting bridge where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge into the town with it’s winding streets of boutique shops and onto the seafront Esplanade and beach. Brewers Quay is a much loved location in Weymouth.

Parking no problem at all The oven was quite smokey so might need a clean The TV box malfunctioned but a technician was sent round within an hour and fixed the problem, very polite and efficient. We will definitely be booking again

What a lovely cottage well positioned in the such a quiet harbour but found quite a few items left behind maybe not previous guests I think maybe the cleaners need a bit more time on this property We love this place & go back again & again so good when it was Dream Cottages

The property is just perfect for our family and we have already rebooked for next summer! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner during the holiday, who was very keen to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The linen and towels were changed halfway through the holiday, which was great (things get very sandy very quickly with holiday kids!). Really looking forward to staying again and a HUGE thank-you to the owner and Sykes for a perfectly listed property.
