Little Gull Cottage is a characterful, three-storey cottage situated on a pedestrian-only lane, just a short stroll from the pretty Old Harbour in Weymouth, Dorset. The cottage makes the perfect base for friends or families. Presented to a very high standard, this delightful property offers light and airy rooms, together with an enclosed courtyard patio, including outdoor furniture where you can spend your afternoon or have a morning tea. Just a stone’s throw away is the award-winning Weymouth beach with its perfect sand, great for making castles, and shallower waters for paddling or even sea swimming. Adjacent to the beach is the town centre with a good variety of high street shops and quirky independents situated in the charming lanes.
The town also has a theatre and cinema, all within an easy walk from Little Gull Cottage. With a large supermarket nearby, a fishmonger selling locally caught fish and a choice of bakeries in town, you may prefer to cook for yourself using the well-equipped kitchen. Little Gull Cottage is situated along the world-famous Jurassic coastline, with plenty of activities and attractions in and around the town as well as the wider coastline and country villages nearby well worth exploring. It’s an ideal base for day trips to Durdle Door, Portland, Lulworth Cove and Chesil Beach. You can also visit Dorchester for a day of shopping and a variety of restaurants.

Accessing the cottage by key box is convenient and efficient. The cottage is cosy and warm (writing in December), with all the facilities for cooking, TV, and three comfortable bedrooms. Welcome hamper was a nice touch. The cottage is a short walk from the town centre, a nice old pub, a large supermarket and the beach. It is also a pleasant walk to Nothe Gardens and the South West Coastal footpath, where I walked the dog every day. Plenty of parking nearby. Only reservations were minor: no soap/shampoo in the bathroom (while towels were in plentiful supply); some of the single bed slats had a tendency to fall out if you didn't lay on the bed carefully. Also worth noting the stairs are steep so wouldn't suit the infirm (not a problem for us). But overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a well merited 5 star rating.

Little Gull was excellent for cleanliness and so we're the facilities. The beds were very comfortable so sleep was not a problem. All the local attractions were well within walking distance as was the Asda supermarket. The only problem for us was the bathroom sink was blocked and took a long time to empty.
