About this property

Resting on the outskirts of the bustling town of Weymouth in Dorset is The Little Cottage. This well-presented, white-washed cottage boasts off-road parking for one car, an open-plan living space and close proximity to the town's local attractions, making this a wonderful setting for a family seascape in Dorset. After your adventures by the sea, settle on the plush sofa with the kids while your partner whips up a hearty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy this as a family at the dining table while reminiscing on the memories you have created. Flick on the Smart TV and settle in for a fun family film night with some well-earned tasty snacks before travelling upstairs where a king-size and twin room await; both rooms are serviced by a bathroom. Be sure to get some rest before another action packed day at the coast. The Little Cottage lies a short drive from the centre of Weymouth with shops to ease your self-catered stay and pubs, including The Royal Standard and The Black Dog, which are great places for celebratory drinks or delicious pub food. The town’s centre houses attractions including SEA LIFE which offers family-friendly exhibits and an array of sea life, Weymouth Museum and Nothe Fort, a Victorian coastal fort with labyrinthine tunnels and an open museum. Take advantage of Greenhill beach, an idyllic place to spend a sunny day on the golden sandy shores with breath-taking vistas across Weymouth Bay; the famed Chesil Beach which stretches 18 miles lies nearby. Travel inland to the town of Dorchester where you can explore Thomas Hardy’s former home, now a National Trust property, or immerse yourself in local history at Dorset Museum or the Roman Town House. Delight in the wonders of Dorset’s 95 miles Jurassic coast which begins in Sidmouth and ends near Swanage, and provides a wealth of walking trails, fossils and geological phenomenon like arches, coves and stack rocks. The Little Cottage is perfectly located for exploring and unlocking the secrets of Dorset’s coast.

Weymouth is a great place to visit any time of the year because of the wide range of activities and attractions available. All sorts of watersports can be enjoyed on the beautiful golden sand beaches, and regular fishing trips leave from the harbour, which is both picturesque and lively. hort drive away is Portland Harbour and the rugged "Isle" of Portland, which is connected to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Take a trip to nearby Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens or to Dorchester, the inspiration for "Casterbridge" in Thomas Hardy's novels. Both are located along the scenic coastal road. You could also just go to West Bay; the scenery along the Dorset Heritage Coast is breath-taking.

New 2 seater sofa plus another chair has been added. Very comfortable bed. Everything worked well. Bus stops nearby so you don't need to take the car every day. Shops close by. The bath is quite high to climb into so if you are not very mobile or agile this cottage might not be for you. Only negative was some road noise which you could hear in the bedroom.

It was very comfortable and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the chocolate biscuits on our arrival. We used the bus to and from Weymouth- the stop was just outside and much easier than trying to park. We would definitely come again.
