Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Situated within the grounds of the owner’s home and working farm, these two semi-detached, single-storey barn conversions and detached cottage are comfortable holiday homes from which to explore the delights that the Forest of Dean has to offer. A tour of the farm to see the livestock can be arranged directly with the owner.
Each property benefits from a wood burner or electric coal-effect fire, perfect for keeping cosy in the winter months. To the front of the properties is a shared lawned area where guests are welcome to enjoy picnics.
Cider Press Barn (ref UK12379) offers three bedrooms, two double, one with an en-suite shower room, and a further single. To the rear of the property is a private, enclosed courtyard garden with a built in barbecue, great for al fresco dining. The courtyard itself is a sun trap and is perfect for relaxing in the evenings.
Lambing Shed (ref UK12380) is a characterful property, though what really stands out is the attention and thought that has gone into the kitchen and living space, encouraging families to spend time together. The wood burner is surrounded by an outstanding open brick wall, providing a rustic appeal. From the kitchen window you have a great view across the farm courtyard and over the fields. Off the living room is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and further down the hallways is a twin bedroom and a shower room.
In the Forest of Dean itself, there are many picnic sites, pathways and cycle tracks to be found. Outdoor activities are plentiful with riding and canoeing available in the local area and the cathedral city of Gloucester is within easy driving distance. Shop and pub under 1 mile, restaurant 1½ miles.

A comfortable single storey cottage on a working farm. It was clean and well equipped with all we needed. Being on the edge of the forest of Dean there are lots of things to do. The closest town is Lydney which has supermarkets, independent shops, takeaways and restaurants. We went to the Italian restaurant which was very good. The community church is good. There is a heritage railway which has steam trains and in the Forest there are plenty of scenic walks.The only downside to the cottage is the smell of the farm. It didn't really bother us but some people might find it off putting. If you don't like farmyard smells this one might not be for you.Apart from that the cottage is a great base from which to explore the area.

Beautiful & spacious but some basics need correcting.The Lambing Shed is a beautiful spacious cottage with wonderful wood features, and extras like - 2 shower rooms; a dishwasher; washing machine and courtyard space - that other places may not have. Unfortunately some basics let it down. The double bed mattress desperately needed replacing (I ended up sleeping on a single mattress from the spare room on the lounge floor) and the lounge TV makes you think you have sight problems but it's the TV that needs seeing to, not you! Lastly, I know it's on a farm, but the cottage in currently backed by sheds storing horses which means you can't really open the windows in the kitchen and 2nd bedroom due to the smell and flies. If the bed and TV were sorted it would be a fantastic place to stay but remembering - it is a farm.
