A delightful detached former lock keeper's house, occupying a unique location at the entrance to the historic Gloucester Docks, where you will find many attractions including museums, restaurants, bars, shops, antiques and crafts centres and the Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet. Gloucester city centre and the magnificent cathedral are just 5 minutes' walk away. The beautiful Cotswolds lie to the east, while to the west is the Forest of Dean. The historic towns of Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon are within an hour's drive. This beautifully presented house offers cosy and relaxing accommodation and is ideally situated for exploring this interesting and varied part of the country.
Gloucester is an historic waterfront city full of Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and an impressive Norman Cathedral, the cloisters of which were used as a location in the Harry Potter films. The thriving city centre is home to a superb range of shops, markets, pubs, restaurants, and other attractions for visitors. The city is an enjoyable base from which to explore the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, which offer many country walks and picturesque villages. The Eegency town of Cheltenham is an easy drive away, and offersfascinating Georgian architecture and the world-renowned Gold Cup horse racing. There is so much for all the family to do in this lovely area, no matter what your interests.

Note: Due to close proximity of deep open water at front and rear, children must be very closely supervised at all times and care should be taken with dogs.
Note: Due to the character and age of the property, the stairs are quite steep, however there is a handrail down one side.
For breaks shorter than 7 nights, check in/out days can be accomodated on Friday.

It is great to park the car and leave it until we go home as everything is right on the doorstep, the docks, the Cathedral, eateries, shops etc and we were lucky enough to be there when the market was on. It is such a comfortable cottage and even the sound of the cars going bump bump over the bridge ramp is comforting.

I couldnât believe what I saw down the side of the cooker. Itâs damp and itâs very noisy. The shower backs up badly and I think that itâs emptying via a rain water pipe. Dare not use the bath. The upstairs wc in not fixed to the floor. Yes, the stairs are steep but are manageable. Where the Bridge is right next to the property sleeping is a challenge with the noise from cars. The Docks are wonderful and I would return again but not to this property.
