About this property

Resting alongside an idyllic orchard in Sandford, Somerset lies Grenadier, a beautifully presented, single-storey lodge. With bespoke-built decking with integrated furniture, along with an open-plan living space and plenty of home comforts, this dog-friendly lodge is ideal for a small family, a couple, or even friends sharing. On arrival, private parking greets you before taking the steps up to the lodge and entering the open-plan space. Fitted with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area the space is sure to be the social hub of the home where family can come together to eat, dine and unwind. From here, the bedrooms offer plush beds for when you need rest and are served by a sleek shower room when it is time to freshen up before a day out.

Outside, make use of the stunning setting and take your meals alfresco in the warmer months. Grenadier is a lovely retreat for a family break to Somerset. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1119950 & 1119951, together sleeping up to 12 guests.

Sandford is in Somerset, surrounded by picturesque farmland and the Mendip Hills aonb. Home to one of the region's leading cider producers, Thatchers Cider, it is a tiny community with just one pub The Railway Inn and a spar providing you with the needed necessities. Heading towards the shore, you can visit Weston-super-Mare for a classic seaside town experience with watersports, donkey rides, and promenade strolls. Contrast this coastal scenery with the Mendips, where rocky outcrops, lakes, gorges, and flower-rich grasslands have been left to flourish in a protected area unspoiled by human influence and home to some of Britain's darkest skies for astronomy.

The lodge is well equipped, very clean and very cosy. When lit all the lights and candles make for an atmospheric evening. The induction hob does take some getting used to if like me you haven’t used one but thanks to the helpful cleaning lady (so sorry I didn’t catch your name) we managed to get the kettle whistling away to make that all important brew. The fire pit is a nice touch, you can’t beat sitting round a log file. Paul was very welcoming and checked regularly if things were all good which they were. Big thumbs up from our group of three adults.
