The sunsets are spectacular and, in the evening, the lights from Cornwall twinkle across the sea with something to look at every moment of the day or night. The aspect directly over the Breakwater is extraordinary and there can hardly be a more engaging aspect in the South West! There is a footpath from the property to both Bovisand beaches and the South West Coast Path.
Sea Cottage is a 70’s-style bungalow which feels cosy and homely. The bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobes and beautiful sea views. We enjoyed a sunny relaxing week at Sea Cottage. The views over Plymouth Sound are amazing and each evening we sat on the patio with wine to watch the sunset.Local walks on the cliffs and down to the beach start outside our door.Plymouth and the marina is just 5 miles by car with all the activities, shops and facilities you might want. Our host Lorna was very helpful and friendly. Her bungalow has plenty of space is bright and clean. The small community is safe and friendly. We will be returning again next year.

We really enjoyed our week at lovely Sea Cottage, which is homely and comfortable with the most amazing view. Lorna the owner was kind and helpful. We took fold up bikes, which were useful for cycling to the excellent nearby pub The Mussel Inn. We also cycled Drakes Trail near Plymouth, which we picked up at Plymbridge Woods car park, a lovely easy trail to Clearbrook, where The Skylark pub is convenient for a break. We did the second section from Clearbrook to Tavistock another day. This is a more hilly section. Another great excursion was driving to the free car park at Mount Batten where you can pick up the foot ferry (also takes bikes) to the Barbican area of Plymouth. Having bikes we were then able to cycle the 2 miles to the Royal William Yard, which has lovely shops and places to eat, where we got the Cremmyl Ferry for lunch at the lovely Orangery at Mount Edgcumbe. Also recommend a visit to Salcombe and the short walk to Snape Point for lovely view of Salcombe but note parking can be difficult peak season. The Cliff Edge cafe overlooking Bovisand Bay is a great local walk from Sea Cottage.

Lorna is lovely and is a brilliant host. Sadly Sea Cottage has several shortcomings. It is cluttered with lots of things that are not needed for a rental property. It is Lornas home with clutter and bits of broken furniture kept in the room with the washing machine. We also found there were some less than desirable smells so we bought a few air fresheners. Lovely setting but could be much better
