Children’s play area (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This “eco-lodge” has been built to a very high standard and is incredibly eco-friendly – as well as very child-friendly and dog-friendly! It has a timber frame, triple glazing, solar panels and many energy and water saving features. On the ground floor there is a slate tiled hall, and a bathroom. Through the hall is a lovely open plan living space with an oak floor and a wood burner and large patio doors out to the small sunny garden with a gate through to a lovely wildflower meadow and children’s play area – complete with a tractor! The kitchen is fully equipped and has a gorgeous hand made table and bench made using old oak from Carswell Farm! You go up the stairs (with stairgates top and bottom) from the hall directly into the twin room, with a great area under the eaves for children to play in, and through into a double room with kingsize bed.

In addition to the wood burner, The Lodge has solar water panels, electric radiators and all the standard facilities that are offered. Hotel quality white bed linen and big fluffy towels are all provided, as well as tea-towels, bath mats and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. Carswell put delicious local organic milk in the fridge for your arrival with their compliments, along with enough recycled paper toilet rolls, Fair Trade tea, coffee, sugar and local organic herbal tea to get you started!
