Had a lovely 2 week break here. Peaceful, warm and cosy. The property was well equipped and has everything you need. I particularly liked the good internet, and having Sky TV was a great plus. Comfy bed. One minor point, which won't effec most people - the door entry to the shower as very narrow - just over 13" gap. A struggle if you are very overweight. Lovely shower once you are in!!!I would love to stay here again.

I have delayed writing this review to give it proper consideration, I wanted to be honest but also fair. After a late change we chose to book The Barn for a few days away, both to celebrate a birthday and Christmas. We wanted somewhere easy to reach for both sides of the family, one travelling north, one south and The Barn, just 10 mins from Glastonbury and Street was perfect. Description told us it gave us everything we needed, including underfloor heating, I even checked the oven was electric to cook Christmas dinner! 😆 Directions were spot on. On arrival, in addition to the electric entrance gate, which was broken then fixed had broken again, there were a couple of large excitable dogs lose in the courtyard. One of our party is scared of dogs and we had chosen specifically because no pets were allowed but I stupidly didn’t consider the owner may have their own. The dogs were rounded up and put inside to allow us to get in and unload and to be fair there was no issue during the stay. The Barn looked lovely, decorate nicely with matching en suite rooms at either end and a good size kitchen, with the widest worktop (unused breakfast bar) I have ever seen, a complete waste of space and the location of a sofa placed directly under the TV made it difficult for the family to sit round together to watch which was needed at the time of year we visited. You could remove the unused breakfast bar and swap dining table with sofa for a better layout/flow. It was chilly on arrival but we plugged in electric heaters, closed curtains and doors and looked to get the underfloor heating on.  that’s when we had some concerns, they didn’t seem to be any underfloor heating none of the controls worked and there wasn’t a welcome pack or instructions to help. I naïvely thought it may be timed and would come on overnight. It didn’t and it was cold, woke up on the first morning and we seriously considered leaving. It didn’t help that we were visiting when a yellow weather warning was in place so the temperature had dropped. We contacted the owners who explained that the underfloor heating was connected to the main house but they would sort something and true to their word they did. We got the heated towel rails working along with the underfloor heating in the bathrooms, we still needed the electric heaters but it was manageable. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked a lovely Christmas dinner. Plenty of storage, large fridge freezer (freezer could do with a bit of a defrost) and a full sized hob and oven. Bedrooms were spacious and beds comfortable, lots of storage.  Bathrooms were small and compact but perfectly formed. Shower was hot and powerful, though showerhead height couldn’t be adjusted. Heated towelrail with underfloor heating was a bonus. Yes we had a few hiccups but overall it is a lovely place. The issue with the entrance gate was fixed and going in and out after the first time was easy. The location is what we wanted, peaceful but only 10 mins drive to nearby towns. It was cold but maybe the wrong time of year to visit. The owners were great, very helpful and quick to act when needed and we’d like to thank them for our December stay.

An absolutely wonderful little barn. We had a wonderful, quiet stay. Clear instructions, easy to get in, quiet location and beautiful surroundings. Would definitely stay again. Everything was very clean and smelt lovely. Shower was fabulous, and comfy beds.
