The Paddock in Somerset offers a quaint and comfortable stay, with guests praising its peaceful location, proximity to local attractions, and the friendly atmosphere created by the owners and their dog, Barry. The on-site pub is a highlight, serving delicious homemade meals. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall experience is deemed enjoyable and welcoming.

Cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the property clean and tidy, while others noted issues with stained cups, a dirty bathroom shelf, and mould. The presence of mould and unclean cutlery has slightly lowered the score.

The location is highly praised for being peaceful, convenient, and within walking distance to local pubs and attractions like Wells. The serene setting and easy access to nearby sites contribute to a high score.

Guests found the cottage comfortable and cosy, ideal for couples. However, some mentioned that the property felt basic and could benefit from updates, and there were comments about a smell of dog on the sofa.

Facilities were generally found to be adequate, with everything needed for a stay. However, there were comments about dated showers, lack of recycling, and limited cooking space, indicating room for improvement.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, therefore it is not possible to assess this category and the score is set to null.

The shelf in the bathroom was dirty and mould on the ceiling and by the window in the bedroom. I get that it’s an older building block but that needs to be sorted out or at least wipe it away before the next person stays. The drain in the floor of the shower was black and dirty and you can see that it can be opened if you use a screwdriver. If you are after a cottage where you eat out every night then that’s the place to stay but otherwise very limited room to cook. I probably wouldn’t stay there again as I prefer to stay in more in the evening to cook.

Cutlery wasnt very clean and the sofa did have a smell of dog to it and there was mould in the bedroom. Found the living room dim with one of the lights being out but overall was a nice cottage and we did enjoy our stay.
