About this property

This lovingly renovated barn rests beneath Crook Peak in the Mendip Hills on the edge of the Somerset village of Compton Bishop. There are countryside walks from the doorstep, a river where guests can try their hand at fishing and llamas and pygmy goats to meet. The historic towns and cities of Axbridge (2.5 miles), Cheddar (4.5 miles), Wells (12.5 miles), Glastonbury (15 miles), Bath (28 miles) and Bristol (20 miles) are all accessible by car. The seaside towns of Burnham on Sea (9.5 miles) and Weston super Mare (8 miles) are within a short drive, with their golden sandy beaches and family entertainment, or head for the quieter beach at Uphill (7 miles). The first two weeks in November is carnival season with the renowned Bridgwater, Burnham on Sea and Weston super Mare carnivals all within a short drive. Enter this stylishly decorated single storey barn conversion into a light and airy open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a comfortable seating area with Smart TV, a dining table and large bi fold doors, beyond which far reaching countryside views can be enjoyed. The immaculate, well equipped kitchen has a large island complete with bar stools and all the facilities you could need to cook a lazy breakfast, or a delicious family meal. There are two bedrooms, both beautifully decorated and with Smart TVs: a master king size bedroom and a twin zip and link (which can be made into a king size) on request. Completing the attractive accommodation is a contemporary bathroom with indulgent slipper bath. Heading outside to the enclosed garden, find a patio complete with comfortable furniture, BBQ and a sail to shelter from the heat of the day. It is an ideal space to relax in good weather, with views over the surrounding countryside. Onsite activities include fishing on the riverbank and a one of a kind adventure the opportunity to book a guided llama walk direct from the property. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king size and 1 twin zip and link (can be made into a king size on request). 1 bathroom with a freestanding slipper bath, separate shower and WC. Electric hob and oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. Cot and highchair available. Smart TV in the lounge. Smart TVs in both bedrooms. Underfloor heating. Enclosed garden with patio, seating and charcoal BBQ. Private parking for 2 cars. Beach 7 miles, 2 pubs under 2 miles and shop 2 miles. There are fishing rights so guests are welcome to fish from the riverbank which runs along the bottom (but not within the enclosed garden).. Guided llama walks are available to book during your stay. Not suitable for children under 8 years of age, however they are able to meet the llamas and goats. Children over 8 years must be accompanied by an adult (adults with infant carriers are also allowed). These walks can be booked directly with the owner of the property at a special rate.
