Situated in the village of Combe St Nicholas and nestling on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, Smithycroft puts you right at the heart of some of the South West’s most beautiful walking country. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts wonderful, rolling scenery, with walks galore across the Somerset and Devon border.
The traditional thatched cottage feels as cosy as it looks, with an inglenook fire place in the sitting room and a breakfast room with french doors leading out onto the enclosed garden. The owners have refurbished the property to include little touches of luxury, like a roll-top bath in the principle en-suite, so you enjoy a traditional cottage with all mod cons too.
Whether you’re coming away for a family holiday or a romantic break, Smithycroft is the ideal base for exploring a fascinating part of the world. The Jurassic Coast and Lyme Regis are thirty minutes’ drive away, and the splendour of Cheddar Gorge is only a short distance too. There are low beams in some areas of the cottage, and a disused well in the garden.
The steps from the parking area are uneven so it is advisable to take any luggage through the front entrance.
Due to the thatched roof, fireworks and barbecues are not permitted at this property.

Lovely property in a quiet village and all was clean and tidy. Slightly disappointed that the kitchen floor and ground floor bathroom floor were still very wet on arrival in the evening. Spent time drying it so family members would not slip.
