Newly renovated in 2022 in a way that is sympathetic to the age of the cottage yet packed full of modern features and your creature comforts, this cottage has it all. On the ground floor you will find the fabulous kitchen that comes extremely well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher,and electric hob, as well as everything you will need during your stay. The utility room has a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, leading off from here is the downstairs shower room with walk-in shower.
The stunning dining room has original oak panelled walls and beamed ceilings, while the living room has dual aspect windows, beams, comfy seating and electric wood burner. Upstairs you will find three spacious bedrooms, one being a twin and the other two having king sized beds, the master bedroom has wonderful views over the fields beyond. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and heated towel rail.
Outside you will find a glorious lawned garden with amazing countryside views to sit back and enjoy, while to the rear you will find a partially covered barn with your own hot tub and games area, it’s the perfect spot for all the family to relax and have fun!
The Moat House is set in the hamlet of Cudworth, just a few miles from both Chard and Ilminster towns, both with a mix of shops and local eateries to enjoy. The larger towns of Yeovil and Taunton are easily reached in under 30 minutes where a larger selection of shops and entertainment can be found. Several National Trust properties can be found nearby as well as country parks such as Ham Hill and Castle Neroche. Lyme Regis beach is just over 20 minutes away by car and is a great day out for all the family!

This was our second stay and we are already planning our next trip.Although the roads are a little rough / potholes this in no way reflects the cottage .

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived, thanks to the brilliant communication. It was fantastic to have such an amazing property to ourselves with only the Greater Spotted Woodpeckers for company. In nature but only fifteen minutes from Chard and Ilminster in opposite directions. We only booked for five days and wished we had booked for longer!

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is beautifully presented and as spacious as it appears in the photos. We were graced with good weather and made the most of the walking available from the doorstep, as well as the immaculate garden. We did drive past the driveway twice before we found the cottage - the sign was tiny to spot in the hedge. A truly secluded spot.
