Homer's Cottage in Wincanton offers a warm, cosy stay with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly hosts and thoughtful touches like homemade bread and cake. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the charm and tranquillity of the cottage, along with its convenient location for exploring, make it a highly recommended getaway for relaxation and enjoying the countryside.

The cottage is generally described as clean and comfortable. However, the mention of wood lice by one reviewer suggests there is room for improvement in this area.

The location is praised for its beautiful views and tranquillity, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat. Its proximity to attractions like Longleat adds to its appeal.

The cottage is consistently described as cosy and comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed mentioned. However, some guests experienced issues with hot water and a wood burner, slightly affecting the comfort score.

Facilities are adequate for a modest stay, with some guests finding the kitchen minimal and electrical units tricky. Maintenance issues like a broken wood burner handle and a non-functioning extractor fan are noted.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful gestures of homemade bread, cake, and other welcome items. While these are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

The site was lovely but we found it difficult to negotiate our way in and out. (Forgot our satnav stupidly) No doubt others might not have problems but we can only speak for our experience. The cottage was warm and cosy with great views and Tom the owner was very helpful. We spent a great day at Longleat and saw all the animals from the Tour bus which is well worth it.
