If you are looking for a fabulous 5-star escape to the country with space for everyone, then Staple Hill House is the right choice for you.. Ground Floor:
Living room: With wood burner (available Oct-Mar), Sky TV (Sky Movies and Sky Sports), DVD player and surround sound system.
Dining room: With TV.
Kitchen: With breakfast bar, oil Rayburn (for heating and hot water only), double electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, slow cooker, dishwasher and coffee machine.
Utility room: With fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bedroom 1: With zip and link super kingsize bed (can be twin beds on request) and en-suite with shower cubicle, hand rails, shower stool and toilet.
First Floor:
Bedroom 2: With kingsize bed, double corner sofa bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.
Bedroom 3: With kingsize bed and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.
Bedroom 4: With twin beds.
Bedroom 5: With twin beds.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, shower attachment and heated towel rail.
Separate toilet.. Oil central heating, oil, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Stairgates. Welcome to Staple Hill House, a fabulous 5-bedroom, characterful detached property set in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the glorious Somerset countryside with views extending as far as the Quantock Hills yet only 10 minutes’ drive from the county town of Taunton. This spacious, beautifully decorated holiday home really has something for everyone, making the property great for families or friends looking to escape to the country together.
Downstairs you will find the large kitchen which comes fully equipped with all you could need to cook everything from a simple meal to a huge dinner for all your party. Off the kitchen is the large dining room which has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner (ornamental effect only), large table plus a snug corner with sofa and TV and enjoys views over the garden. The spacious living room also has a gorgeous wood burner as well as plenty of seating for everyone. There are five bedrooms in total, three which feature en-suite facilities. With one bedroom being on the ground floor making it ideal for up to 2 guests with limited mobility who prefer not to have to go upstairs to bed.
Outside you have a wonderful private wood-fired hot tub area and a large private, fully enclosed lawned garden that wraps around the house with furniture and barbecue giving you plenty of space for the children to run around or to just sit back, relax and enjoy the fresh Somerset air!
Staple Hill House has its own entrance gate and is located next to the owner’s private stables. The immediate area is a walker’s or cyclist’s paradise with routes in every direction and offers easy access to the Staple Fitzpaine Herepath, a shared cycle and walking bridleway with a network of marked trails through forestry and open land of varying lengths to suit everyone and forms in total a 13 mile loop around the village of Staple Fitzpaine. The route primarily follows a series of off road tracks through wooded areas including Staple Park Wood, Piddle Wood and Birkenhall Wood. Castle Neroche and Staple Hill parks being of particular note where great walks and views can be enjoyed. Just ¾ of a mile away is the wonderful Greyhound Inn, a great country pub serving food and drinks, or a short drive takes you to a fabulous Italian restaurant as well as more amazing local inns!
The county town of Taunton is around 10 minutes’ drive away and has a host of shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. National Trust properties surround the area and the Great Somerset Steam Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead is a must do for kids and adults. The seaside town of Lyme Regis on The Jurassic coast just over the Dorset border is a little over half an hour’s drive away. Shop 5 miles. Pub ¾ of a mile, restaurant 3 miles.
