Guests say

Oddwell Cottage is a charming, spacious and well-equipped period property, praised for its peaceful rural setting, characterful features, and comfortable atmosphere. Guests appreciated the secure garden, dog-friendliness, and thoughtful touches on arrival. The cottage is ideal for those seeking tranquillity and a taste of history, with easy access to local amenities and the coast. Some minor issues were noted with cleanliness, maintenance, and access to the upstairs toilet, but overall, guests found it a delightful and relaxing retreat.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, but several mentioned areas needing improvement, such as dust under beds, a dirty dishwasher filter, and leftover hair in the bathroom. These issues suggest cleaning is generally good but not always thorough or professional.

The secluded, peaceful village location was highly praised, offering tranquillity and beautiful surroundings. While remote, guests enjoyed the privacy and proximity to countryside and coast, though some noted the narrow lanes and lack of shops within walking distance.

Guests consistently described the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with quality beds and furniture. The house remained cool in hot weather and warm otherwise. Some found the upstairs toilet tricky to access, but overall comfort was rated highly.

The cottage is very well equipped, with a modern kitchen, underfloor heating, WiFi, private parking, and a secure garden. Minor suggestions included more cleaning supplies, a large jug, and improved lighting or handrails. Maintenance issues like creaky floorboards and singing pipes were noted but did not detract significantly.

Many guests appreciated welcome gifts such as milk, cake, tea, coffee, and biscuits, as well as clear communication from the host. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Ideal if you like quaint, beams and all. 17th century origin especially noticeable in some of the doorways, when painfully realising those of that era were of somewhat shorter stature ! Upstairs loo also a little challenging to access. Nice touch, cake and milk on arrival. An OS map very useful for exploration of the surrounding area, especially if you like driving on narrow and steep lanes. Some top quality deli's and butchers in Williton, Bampton, and 'Wivvy', the latter also with 2 breweries.
