On the ground floor you have an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen area with a stunning bay window enjoying amazing views over the garden to the hills beyond. The beaches of Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor are within easy reach and always make for a fun day out. Jump on the West Somerset Steam Railway and chug merrily through the beautiful Somerset countryside. Dulverton is just a 10 minute drive with its shops and supermarket.

The owners have received an Exmoor National Park Dark Sky Friendly business award. This is very exciting as Astro tourism is a growing component of the tourist industry. Our towns and cities create so much light pollution that most people in the UK cannot appreciate the moon, let alone the stars and planets. Exmoor, along with other remote areas of the UK run events to promote the night sky. The garden is ideal for viewing the night sky and there are two sets of Astro binoculars for guests to enjoy the starry sky. Blankets, baked potatoes and a hot drink can also be provided on request.

Free WiFi

The path to the property from the parking space is slightly uneven. Cats, dogs & horses on site!

Suitable for up to 2 pets

Little Folly is a little gem - we loved it! The setting is near to both the seaside and the inner depths of Exmoor. Surrounded by peaceful countryside populated by wildlife in abundance. There are walks to suit young and old, less experienced and seasoned walkers. The nearby villages of Winsford and Dulverton have the right number of pubs to try out and local shops. Frances and Pluto the beautiful dog met us at the gate and welcomed us to our cosy home for 3 days. A special treat was the best chocolate cake we have ever tasted prepared by local lady. The welcome pack had all the essentials for drinks throughout the weekend - we brought our own gin and tonics of course. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and cozy. The beds were excellent. Frances generously supplied every product we might need for the bathroom. She is particularly careful to use nature friendly products. She was available to assist in any way should we need help. Although we did a long walk nearby one day, we were content to laze about in the lovely garden with its beautiful views and sound surround birdlife. Also we were treated to a close encounter with Exmoor pony herd which grazed nearby - as well as the amusing antics of courting pheasants in the field where the two lovely ponies Lucy and Harry gently munched the grass. Yes, a perfect get away from it all👍. Thankyou Frances and Mike for making this retreat available .
