Guests say

North Huckham is a tranquil, well-equipped cottage set in beautiful, expansive gardens, perfect for those seeking peace, nature, and dark skies for stargazing. Guests praise its spaciousness, comfort, and the abundance of wildlife, with many enjoying the remote location and excellent walking opportunities nearby. The cottage is ideal for families and dog owners, though the steep driveway and rural setting mean a car is essential. While the property is generally well maintained, a few guests noted the dated décor and suggested minor improvements. Overall, it offers a relaxing countryside retreat away from the bustle of daily life.

Multiple reviews mention the cottage as clean and well-kept, with no negative comments regarding cleanliness. The high standard of cleanliness is consistently appreciated by guests.

The location is widely praised for its peace, quiet, beautiful scenery, and proximity to Exmoor. The remote setting is a highlight, though the steep driveway is noted as challenging for some. The rural location is ideal for walkers and nature lovers.

Guests frequently mention the cottage's comfort, including cosy living spaces, comfortable beds, and a welcoming atmosphere. The woodburner is appreciated in colder months. A minor suggestion for a larger TV was made, but overall comfort is highly rated.

The cottage is described as exceptionally well-equipped, with excellent facilities and a superb garden. Everything needed for a relaxing stay is provided, though one guest noted the heating could be improved in cold weather and another mentioned a dated feel.

Guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack and the overall attention to detail in equipping the cottage. Please note that gifts or welcome packs are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovely cottage nestled within its own grounds. So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful place to spend a few hours watching the birds, with a cup of tea. Within the cottage itself everything worked tho it has a dated feel. There is a VERY steep driveway and if you’re not a confident driver it may prove to be a little too much.
