About this property
The Crows Nest, Porlock Weir, is a charming thatched end-of-terrace cottage perched above scenic Porlock Bay offering family accommodation with the benefit of amazing sea views. It's less than 5 mins walk to the 13th Century Harbour where you can find a pub and a couple of restaurants to eat.
Accommodation
The Crows Nest kitchen is fitted with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, under-counter fridge, separate under-counter freezer, and microwave. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in the downstairs cloakroom, along with the iron and ironing board.
The television has channels provided by NowTV, which is an internet TV service. There are various options for catch up channels (iplayer, etc) and series' of TV programmes available to watch, but it's not possible to watch live TV. However, there are various apps, so some sport can be watched via the BBC Sport app, for example. There is also a DVD player in the sitting room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property.
A travel cot is available on request; please request it when booking so we can make sure it is present for your arrival.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Crows Nest is fitted with central heating and there is also a wood burner in the sitting room; some kindling and one basket of logs will be provided in the cooler months. Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Bed linen is not supplied for the cot.
A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available.
Washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

Lovely location and well- kept, spacious property. I stayed for 3 nights with one of my 4 children who really needed some down-time and she felt well-refreshed by the views, ambience of the property and the location and we were fortunate to have reasonable weather! At nearly 80 years old with osteoa.... Lovely location and well- kept, spacious property. I stayed for 3 nights with one of my 4 children who really needed some down-time and she felt well-refreshed by the views, ambience of the property and the location and we were fortunate to have reasonable weather! At nearly 80 years old with osteoarthritis, I was still able to cope with the steps and hills and enjoyed the walk into Porlock where we were able to catch the bus back. Would certainly consider returning.

What an fabulous cottage in a beautiful location, the views are amazing. The directions to the cottage were good and so easy to find. We had an issue with the drive way as it was too steep and the turning too sharp for our long wheel based van. We found we could only access it by reversing up the .... We had an issue with the drive way as it was too steep and the turning too sharp for our long wheel based van. We found we could only access it by reversing up the lane and approaching from the right hand side and then reversing back down the drive onto the lane to leave. It was tricky but doable with a confident driver. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need. Although if you plan on cooking, there are absolutely no store cupboard essentials, you do have to take everything; salt, pepper etc The cottage is fantastically old and quirky with lots of character. We really enjoyed lighting the log burner in the evening. We didn't get on with the double bed as it was very soft and creaky but there was plenty of space and storage in the bedrooms and everything was clean and tidy. The shower was fabulous too! There is hardly any phone signal and the WiFi is very slow, which didn't fo down well with the teen!
