We have stayed at Well Cottage several times and have enjoyed the remoteness and the peace and tranquillity. However, our stay this year was blighted by a couple of things. Firstly there was no indication on any information given out prior to our arrival that the access road from the cottage to Dunster was closed (and had been for over a year I understand) which meant a lengthy diversion through Timberscombe to get to the main shopping area in Minehead. It would be useful to add an advisory note about the road closure.Secondly, after less than 12 hours at the cottage, the internet failed. Despite the best efforts of the owner, the connection had not been restored two weeks later when we departed. This had a considerable impact on our stay as the only way to connect with the outside world was to go up to the top end of the car park to get a very unstable signal. Family coming to stay with us was curtailed because of the lack of connectivity - our son because he would have been working from home and our daughter because she had an online appraisal, neither was possible without an internet connection!But the cottage was the usual comfortable rural retreat with lots of equipment and also good space for our two dogs.We will definitely visit again and hopefully all the problems will have been resolved.

Excellent short break at Well Cottage. Comfortable, well equipped. Secure garden for dog and great forest walks just up the hill.We took the forest track to avoid the long detour, ok but wouldn’t recommend in a small car

The location is lovely& secluded. We used a forestry commission track to get to Dunster avoiding road closures. Loved Nutcombe Bottom. Easy drive to Minehead & Woolacombe. The cottage is spacious & well equipped. We had 4 adults, 2 dogs & a two year old & we had loads of room. Loads of walks & plenty to do.
