This Grade II-listed coastguard cottage enjoys a prime location to the east of Brixham town centre. The South West Coast Path, saltwater lido, and Shoalstone Beach can all be accessed via the gate at the bottom of the pretty enclosed garden. Brixham is a year-round resort with a vibrant summer atmosphere and a tranquil slower pace in winter. Head to the marina, where you can wander the shops and independent seafood restaurants, watch the fishing boats sail in and out of the working harbour or try your luck crabbing! While there, be sure to check out the life-size replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship The Golden Hind. You might like to book a stay to coincide with the Bay of Lights Illumination Trail (November to January), or catch Brixham’s Lanterns, Lights and ‘Luminations festival in November. Other calendar highlights include Brixham trawler race in June and Torbay Steam Fair in August.
Sleeping six, this charming seafront property has plenty of space for friends or family to relax. At its heart is the welcoming lounge/diner, an inviting space with glorious sea views that can be enjoyed from the sofas and armchairs, as well as the dining table. There is a TV here too for watching films or your favourite programmes together. The contemporary kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the adjacent utility room houses the washing machine and an additional large fridge freezer. The ground floor is also home to a second lounge/snug. With a TV and sofa bed, this makes a great space for teenagers or two additional guests by prior request. The downstairs shower room is particularly handy if this room is being used as a bedroom. On the first floor of the cottage, guests will find two bedrooms – a twin and a double with sea views – and a bathroom. The second floor boasts a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, seating area and incredible views of the bay and harbour.
Outside, to the rear of the property, there is a fantastic, enclosed garden offering plenty of space to relax and listen to the waves crashing. There is a large patio for outside dining and steps down to a generous lawn. Enjoy eating breakfast or dinner inside or al fresco on the patio with a remarkable view of the bay. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
