Compass Point is a well-located cottage in Brixham, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and proximity to local amenities. Guests appreciate the short walk to shops, eateries, and the harbour. However, parking is a notable issue, with limited on-street options and additional costs incurred at the harbour. Some guests experienced maintenance and privacy concerns, and the lack of festive decorations over Christmas was a disappointment for one visitor.
The property is consistently described as clean, with multiple reviews affirming the cleanliness of the house, contributing to a comfortable stay.
The location is highly regarded for being close to the high street, harbour, and local amenities. However, the proximity to nightlife and the issue with parking slightly affects the score.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living areas cosy. However, some concerns about noise and the underwhelming shower have been noted.
The facilities have mixed reviews, with some guests finding the kitchen lacking, especially over Christmas. Maintenance issues like a broken bin and chair were also mentioned.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so this score cannot be provided.

Spotles cottage. Comfortable stay. Parking is tricky. Google maps suggested that Langley Ave would be a good place to park, and so it proved.

Clean house and comfy beds. Although it says parking on the road, we never managed to get a space as cars from the businesses park here. The house is immediately behind the High Street so lots of early morning deliveries to the back of the shops directly opposite with noise all day and night, especially drunks over the Bank Holiday from The Vigilance - JD Wetherspoon, round the corner. Parking is limited at the back of the house with the permit. The road there was fiull up over the Bank Holiday. We had to park at the harbour many times costing nearly £100 for 2 cars over the week. Shower is very underwhelming, like standing under a leaking gutter! Bath is lovely though so made up for it. On 2 separate occasions while we were out, someone entered the house. First time to leave a couple of parking permits. Instead of posting them in the door, whoever delivered them walked right through the house and left them on a table. Second time, someone had definitely been through the house again and turned off lights that we purposely left on as we planned to be back late. Garden is not private. Residents hop over the fences at the top and walk through. On our journey home I was phoned and accused of leaving vomit on the carpet, breaking a chair and a bin and leaving blood in the bathroom. We absolutely did not leave vomit. Stool in bedroom just had loose screws all of which I left on the dressing table. Bin was cracked on arrival and broke during our stay. Yes there may have been extra cleaning to do following a nose bleed. No cleaning products were available in the property whatsoever. Definitely would not stay again, poor customer service and experience.
