The accommodation is ideal for families to enjoy a well earned break, with a spacious, well equipped and sociable kitchen with a separate dining room perfect to enjoy family feasts. The large living room offers the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing with a large Smart TV, and wood burner. If you are searching for some peace and quiet then the conservatory is a quiet space overlooking the garden and is the perfect place to curl up with a good book or the morning paper with a cup of coffee. The first floor provides four generous bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite, and a separate wet room for the remaining three bedrooms. Outside there is a private enclosed garden with a Boules/Badminton court. The bottom patioed area boasts a large dining area with seating for 10 as well as offering a barbecue, pizza oven and chiminea for you to enjoy. Finally, why not enjoy relaxing in the hot tub whilst watching a movie on the outdoor screen. The young ones will be thrilled with the external cabin, which offers a contemporary, studio-style layout with a Laura Ashley double sofa bed, a coffee table, an Xbox gaming system and a kitchenette to prepare snacks. The cabin also offers a shower room to prepare for the day ahead. Bay Tree Cottage is set at the edge of the charming village of Mere, with a few local pubs, including The Walnut Tree, The George Inn and The Butt of Sherry, along with independent shops, a convenience store, a post office and a selection of takeaways. Don’t forget to check out the village’s attractions, from the local Tennis Courts and Tourist Board, to the stunning churches and the Castle Hill hiking area. The famous Longleat Safari park is also close by and well worth a visit. If you are one for walks then you will not be disappointed, within a few minutes of walking from the cottage you will be in the heart of this stunning countryside with some of the most magnificent views in England, including those through Stourhead, where you can also pause for a tour of Stourhead House. The delights of Frome, Shaftesbury and Gillingham are also within reach, offering more amenities and things to experience. Bay Tree Cottage will have you longing to return again and again.

On the boundaries of Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset, this charming little town of old stone cottages is nestled in a lovely conservation area. With much of the area to the north of the town designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this tiny, bustling hamlet is well supplied by a good selection of local stores and ancient inns. The town is perfectly situated for exploring various National Trust locations and ancient residences and is ideal for walking and soaking in the spectacular vistas. A visit to the lovely Stourhead House and grounds, which are only 2 miles away, is a must, as is a visit to Longleat House and the old hilltop town of Shaftesbury, which was featured in the Hovis ads. Stonehenge, Wilton House, Salisbury, and the Dorset coast are all conveniently accessible by car and provide a diverse range of sights and activities.
