Back garden with sitting-out area and BBQ (shared with owner). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 8 steps in the garden.. Caroline Cottage is a duplex annexe set within the owners’ grounds, surrounded by glorious countryside. Caroline Cottage offers a luxury get away and is the ideal base for exploring the area. Surrounded by quiet country lanes and glorious open countryside it is perfect for walking, cycling, bird watching or even just relaxing.
Attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk through the door of the Cottage from its well-equipped kitchen/diner, a four-poster bed and the large living room with projector screen and Sky TV. From the living area there are patio doors which open giving you access to the garden, seating, and BBQ. If you can tear yourself away from Caroline Cottage, the surrounding area is just as spectacular. Just 200 yards away is Shearwater Lake, a lovely walk to enjoy with your furry friend, the lake is open all year round, there are miles of woodland surrounding the lake if you wish to extend your walk.
Stop and have a drink at the local café while looking over the beautiful lake, the café is also pet friendly. This fabulous area has many local attractions with Longleat just 5 miles away, take a visit to Heaven’s Gate where you can see the views of the Longleat Estate. Conveniently located to explore Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Stourhead and many other local attractions.

Caroline Cottage was an absolute dream for a Bank Holiday getaway. We were greeted by Ian as he watered the wonderful gardens. Although the beautiful garden adjoins the owners, we were given total privacy (wonderful patio + furniture) and the dog was happy, secure and thankfully, didn’t stray into owners garden as he had plenty of room of his own. Inside is simply amazing; very comfortable, immaculate and well equipped. Welcome pack was a super surprise - 1l milk, homemade jams, cheese, crusty loaf, butter, orange juice and sparkling wine. During the heatwave, the cottage remained cool especially in the bedroom. A wonderful 4 poster bed but very limited in space at the bottom to manoeuvre. A small compromise! Loved strolling around the lake (a moments walk away) in the sunshine and visited the on-site cafe. A little disappointed at the local pub (down the lane) due to no main food at the time (oven issues) and problems with beer pumps. Found wonderful pubs in perfect river locations while out on our daytime ventures. Would truly recommend Caroline Cottage and will most definitely return. Bravo to extremely considerate and welcoming owners of a fabulous cottage getaway!

Could not fault the place or area.Stayed for a weekend to go to a wedding in Warminster.Cottage was comfortable and very clean . Lovely night sleep on very comfortable bed .welcome pack left by the owners ,who were most welcoming.would definitely stay again there if in the area. Lovely walk nearby at Shearwater lake which we enjoyed.Everything you would need was supplied.

Beautifully presented cottage in a great location with everything you could possibly need for a short getaway. Pretty much next to Shearwater Lake, a lovely spot for a gentle walk with or without your four legged friend. We used as a base to explore Longleat and Stonehenge both of which are a short drive away. The welcome pack with fresh bread, milk, jam, butter etc was much appreciated. Would absolutely return.
