The Old Cider Press in Broadway, Worcestershire, is a charming and characterful cottage praised for its comfort, picturesque village location, and cosy atmosphere. Guests have enjoyed the local pub, scenic walks, and the property's tranquillity. While some guests have suggested improvements, the overall experience is one of a delightful stay in the Cotswolds.
Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. While some guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, others noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and a bathroom that requires a deep clean. The inconsistency in cleanliness has led to a slightly above average score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with the picturesque village of Stanton offering scenic walks and a peaceful atmosphere. The proximity to local attractions and the Cotswolds has been appreciated by guests.
Guests have found the cottage to be cosy and comfortable overall, with a homely living space. However, some guests mentioned that the quality of mattresses and bathroom facilities affected their comfort, leading to a score that reflects room for improvement.
The facilities have been described as adequate for a self-catering holiday, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. However, there are several mentions of the bathroom needing attention and updates, which impacts the score.
There is insufficient information regarding the provision of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. While some guests mentioned a welcome pack, it is not clear if this is a standard offering, and therefore, a score cannot be provided.
Set within arguably one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds, enveloped by superb sightseeing opportunities and with the local pub just a 10-minute walk away, is The Old Cider Press. This homely retreat nestles within a beautiful thatched cottage, one of three properties, with its own private patio at the rear and a designated parking space. Feel immediately welcomed by the reverse level accommodation, making the most of the original framework, with exposed beams and traditional-style furniture. Two king-size double bedrooms rest on ground level, with ample storage space and soothing décor, allowing for a peaceful night's rest. They share a tiled bathroom, which showcases a bath with a shower over and a neutral finish.
There is also a utility cupboard housing a washing machine, to complete this floor. Climb the staircase to the open-plan living room, which offers a bright and airy feel. Make yourselves at home on the sumptuous sofa and if nothing takes your fancy on the TV, why not get out one of the board games you brought along? Get cosy in front of the electric stove on a cool winter's evening and take in the peaceful ambiance wrapped around the cottage. The kitchen continues a traditional feel, yet is fully equipped and poses sleek worktops for a quality feel. Cook up a tasty meal and gather around the dining table in one corner of the room, before polishing off a delicious bottle of wine.
There is also an enchanting spiral staircase you can climb, for a quiet read on the mezzanine landing. On a warm, summer's afternoon, sit out on the patio and chill with a drink, getting that much-needed rest you have been waiting for. Outside the cottage you will also find one designated, off-road parking space. Explore the delightful surrounding towns and villages; Broadway is a mere few miles away with shops, restaurants and galleries. Spend a day at Statford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Spa and Worcester; all are easily reached. There are also some beautiful walking and cycling routes whichever way you turn. This serves as a wonderful base for exploring all the Cotswolds has to offer.
Stanton is arguably one of the prettiest and most idyllic villages in the whole of the Cotswolds, located at the foot of the Shenberrow Hill in the Northern reaches of the Cotswolds. Without doubt it has one of the most stunning high streets in the region with ancient houses dating back to the 16th century built in typical Cotswolds' style with steeply pitched gables, mullioned windows and honey-coloured limestone walls. The village also boasts two magnificent manor houses as well as a restored medieval cross and a church dating back to the Norman period.

The bath really needs a grab rail or something to help you in and out, as already requested by previous visitors. Cottage lovely, beds comfortable, lovely locations. Please be aware that the local pub sits on a very steep slope, not suitable to walk up.

Stunning location and a lovely, unique place to stay. My only recommendation is maybe a decent pair of oven gloves and a slightly bigger cooking dish. Overall, would 100% recommend this to anymore wanting to visit the area. We all had the most relaxing and enjoyable week. Thank you.
