Gardener's Cottage in Suffolk offers a peaceful, dog-friendly retreat with a secure walled garden, ideal for exploring the local countryside and Hadleigh town. Guests appreciate the warm, cosy atmosphere and the thoughtful provision of essentials, although some feel the decor and facilities could benefit from updating.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with no residual pet odours, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable stay.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful grounds, and proximity to Hadleigh, with easy access to local walks and amenities.
Guests report the cottage as warm and the beds comfortable. However, some guests mention that the water pump noise is intrusive and the shower could be improved.
While the inclusion of a dishwasher, washer dryer, and Wi-Fi are appreciated, several reviews suggest that the kitchen and other areas are tired and in need of refurbishment.
Guests are pleased with the welcome touches such as bread, milk, and eggs, although it is noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed.

! This dripped large amounts of water whenever anybody used the shower !! So we had to place a bowl under the area to catch the water !!!!!!! 2. The kitchen cupboards had paint peeling off them in fact one drawer had no cover !!!! 3 The garden that was pictured for the cottage was infact the garden next door not the garden attached to the cottage 4. The fresh flowers were a nice touch on arrival and the sourdough bread was greatly appreciated The butter was not fresh and looked like it had been left from a previous guest as half used 5. The whole property did need updating it felt a bit like nothing had been maintained. We did contact the owner about the leak from the bathroom and they said they would get the handyman to visit but this did not happen The price of this property including the extra monies for the dogs was very high for the standard accommodation. It could be a lovely cottage but needs care and attention or a reduced rate Not sure we would return Although the location and surounding grounds were excellent .

Overall, we found the Cottage quiet, peaceful and comfy, and sheltered in its hollow. The welcome provisions were appreciated too. Likewise, having a pantry with fridge freezer, and a utlity room. One does feel though that the Cottage needs a spruce up- what with cracked and peeling paint in many places, a stained ceiling from a previous water leak, hand towel rail dropping off the wall and so on. Its name does not provide the excuse for it being so down at heel. Although, I'm sure families must enjoy the feeling of not being able to spoil the decor!

..convenient for high street and restaurants / bars ect walking distance but not sure about walking back in the dark at night in winter months ... suited us as we were visiting family and just needed a place to sleep ... overall would recommended
