Walnut Cottage in Ipswich is a charming and well-received holiday rental, praised for its welcoming hosts, thoughtful touches, and convenient location. While some noted minor issues with cleanliness and traffic noise, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning return visits.
Cleanliness is generally good, with improvements noted and a cosy feel. However, a few guests mentioned issues with grime and dust, suggesting room for enhancement in housekeeping.
The location is well-regarded for its convenience to local attractions and amenities, with a community shop and riverside walks nearby. Some guests found the nearby busy road a bit noisy.
Comfort is highly rated, with guests finding the cottage warm and cosy. The garden adds to the comfort, although the steep staircase may not suit everyone.

What a great cottage! Our host Andy called us the Saturday before our trip explaining the history of the building, he also gave great recommendations for local sites to explore. The cottage was well stocked, clean and felt like a home. Andy and his wife Hazel were so generous. Providing free firewood, milk, eggs and a tasty bottle of wine. It was a great holiday. I highly recommend! From Dean, Silvana and James

Lovely clean cottage. Warm & cosy. Really nice welcome pack bread & marmalade very tasty. Would not recommend staying if you have mobility issues due to very difficult stairs leading to bedrooms. Also you need to put dogs on lead to get to the garden. Driveway can be difficult due to busy road.

Stunning cottage as advertised, everything you need is supplied, lovely welcome hamper on arrival. We did have trouble with the heating but the hosts were quick to sort it with no problems, the only thing i would say is change the housekeeper, we didn’t use the shower because of the grime in the tiles and the doors, altho this didn’t reflect from the overall use of the cottage but does need a good dusting and cobwebbing, in fairness seems to be a trend we find in holiday cottages, but overall would give 5*s because of location and the lovely hosts. Plus the fantastic Indian takeaway we had as recommended by the hosts
