The Stables could be just what you are looking for. In a charming location with its own enclosed garden, this peaceful, detached cottage has been lovingly restored with a cool, contemporary finish. The spacious open-plan living/dining room is lovely and light with its high vaulted beamed ceiling, wooden floor and comfortable leather sofas (just perfect for relaxing on!) and French doors opening out onto your own private patio and garden. Wonderful for enjoying your morning coffee or an impromptu al fresco meal in the evening. The well equipped kitchen and dining area has everything that you could wish for, while the bedrooms are beautifully styled, with wood frame beds, and crisp fresh linen, all giving a peaceful ambience.
This cottage is within easy reach of Bury St Edmunds and Norwich, and guests have access to the heated indoor swimming pool (open from May until September, sole use in the mornings and a couple of hours in the early evening, other times available by prior arrangement). The games room and tennis court are also available for guests’ enjoyment in the mornings, Monday to Friday, all year round, and can be available at other times by prior arrangement with the owner.
Situated near Eye and Debenham, with their interesting range of shops and pubs, there are good road links to the larger towns of Diss and Framlingham. Within easy driving distance is the Suffolk Heritage coast with the delightful towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Also within easy reach are Bury St Edmunds and Norwich. Shop 2½ miles, pub ½ mile.

Booking The Stables came about because we’d been let down on another booking. It turns out that we’re over-the-moon that the other booking was cancelled because The Stables was everything that we could have asked for and more. Celia, our host, was communicative, attentive and courteous (even baking us a cake and giving us milk on arrival). The accommodation was comfortable, clean and fully equipped with anything you may need for a week long stay. In terms of location, The Stables was perfectly located for us to be able to visit different towns and activity areas with a short (20-30 minute drive).In addition to having all this, the cottage includes an indoor pool that you can use (season dependent) at your disposal, for most of the day. This meant that, even on your quieter day, you’re able to splash around and enjoy the flexibility and freedom.Reading the guest book, it was full of return customers and we’ll be one of them. It was such a great week. Definitely recommended.

We spent a fabulous week at the Stables, the accommodation was perfect for our family of four. Beautiful surroundings, access to a tennis court and table tennis - not to mention the pool - which was booked to give our teens something to do in case of bad weather. However in the midst of another 2026 heatwave, it was a godsend and used every day! Celia was the perfect host and the location was central to lots of easily reached days out. 100% recommend!

Most relaxing enjoyable holiday we have ever had, we could not fault it at all. Celia was so welcoming and helpful and makes a beautiful cake and her apple juice from her own orchard could only be improved if it was turned into cider haaa haaaWill recommend it anytime Thank you Celia for allowing sue and I to stay in your jewel in the crown
