Just outside the town, Ickworth House (4.5 miles) offers a fantastic day out, with its grand Italianate architecture, expansive parkland and beautifully landscaped gardens. Further afield, Thetford Forest (15 miles) provides miles of scenic walking and cycling trails, as well as the exhilarating Go Ape adventure centre (18 miles). Closer to home, enjoy leisurely walks through the surrounding villages, stopping off at traditional country pubs along the way.
