Or head to Aldeburgh (6 miles) on the coast and enjoy a traditional day by the sea with your buckets and spades while eating ice creams. Orford (7.5 miles) is a must-see spot where you can go crabbing on the quay, explore a 12th-century castle and, if you book the boat in advance, you can take a trip to Orford Ness and Havergate Island. For a day of mystery, visit the lost town of Dunwich (17 miles), once a medieval port, where you can now walk along the beach and explore the beautiful heath.
